History teaches us a tried-and-true, gumshoe-inquisitor's method of uncovering scandal. As memorialized in the 1976 film, All the President's Men, former FBI agent, Mark Felt, unmasked as Deep Throat of Watergate fame, explained the approach to Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward: Deep Throat: Follow the money. Bob Woodward: What do you mean? Where? Deep Throat: Oh, I can't tell you that. Bob Woodward: But you could tell me that. Deep Throat: No, I have to do this my way. You tell me what you know, and I'll confirm. I'll keep you in the right direction if I can, but that's...

I posted the foll. in my company's (Igate) intranet site. Hope this will encourage others to post similar threads to build up the awareness and
momentum and increase membership which is the need of the hour!!!
"Folks, 20 years projection by Gopal, I believe, is a very conservative figure. Believe me, if there is no change in the immigration law in the near future, we are looking at 40 to 50 years( specially those filed after 2004) and not not 20 years. This is a fact and I am very serious. Some legislation similar to SKIL bill needs to be passed to get any kind of relief. There is an organization formed to lobby and bring awareness about the plight of high skilled immigrants - immigrationvoice.org. Visit that site, become a member, learn about the issues and contribute your might. Also mobilise support form friends,co-workers etc. Forget GC without any concerted organizational push."

Having a pending EB1 I-140 does not in itself confer any status. If you filed an I-485 concurrently, then you are permitted to remain in the US pending adjudication. If you have a currently valid H-1B you may remain or renew pending adjudication.

New/amended 140, if the LC states correct job requirements (assuming the mistake was made on 140 application).
New LC if old LC states incorrect job requirements.
I have a Masters Degree in the US and the 5 yr experience required for the EB2 also the position requires it; however my lawyer made a mistake and asked for an EB3.
I already received my I-140 and my I-485 was filed at the same time.
What can I do to change to EB2?
Thanks a lot for your answer,

I am US citizen since March 2009. Husband just received an interview notice for August 11 after having filed all required documents and application for I-485 adjustmnent of status. Along with other documents, we submitted a xerox copy of his I-94 which he overstayed. Unfortunately, he lost the original. My concern is, the interview notice states he is to bring the original I-94, which he no longer has. He can prove however the date of his last entry to the US, as he still has a stamp in his passport with admission date, a sticker on his passport cover for baggage and I can probably dig up his boarding pass. Again - we also made a xerox copy of both sides of I-94 when we still had it. What do I do? Should I get a duplicate? Or is the xerox enough for the interview? I would hate his application to be denied because of this. Please let me know if you had a similar experience or any advice on what I should do.

President Obama has selected three foreign-born scholars to serve on his Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). The first of the three immigrants on PCAST is Mario Molina. Professor Molina, a Mexican native, is the winner of the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. It was awarded based on his discovering the threat posed by CFCs to the ozone layer. Professor Molina is a member of the Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty at the University of California, San Diego and the Center for Atmospheric Sciences at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He is also the Director of the Mario Molina...

I had a question about using using AC21.
Here is the scenario: Let us say I work for XYZ Brothers who applied for my 140 and 485. I have approved 140, H-1b, EAD and AP.
If XYZ laid me off or I left them for career progression or more money 180 days after my 485 was filed and 140 approved what happens to my 485 application?
Wouldnt USCIS question that since my sponsoring employer does not exist anymore, who am I going to work for once I get my green card? or is this coverd under AC21?
Please advice!

Belgian-born Diane Von Furstenberg was profiled yesterday in the New York Times as an example of a fashion designer who is actually doing well despite the economic downturn. Furstenberg has been a major figure in American fashion design for nearly four decades. Her designs are worn by famous women like Jessica Alba, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez. Von Furstenberg gave some common sense advice in the interview that is worth repeating: Its more important than ever to have confidence. Everyone else is insecure. If you start to take a little bit of everyone elses insecurity forget it.

I am right now on L1A visa recently filed for extension and still in processing.
I am planning to get married to my girlfriend here and apply for greencard.
Would appreciate information on how to proceed with that and wheather the L1 extension would affect it in anyway.
Thank You

I read in one of the threads (couldn't locate it now) where USCIS asked for the financials from the new employer in an AC21 case. So just be prepared.
